| AltaVista是资格最老的搜索引擎之一,1995年由著名计算机Digital公司正式推出,1998年被Compag收购,2002年1月又从Compag中独立出来,成为自行运营的子公司.它以搜索功能强大,响应速度快和巨大的信息量著称,数据库已包括2.5亿个网页.AltaVista支持简单和高级查询,在高级查询中,AltaVista支持全功能的布尔逻辑式检索、近似搜索,能将文本译成多种语言,还提供日期限定、语言限定、字段限定等扩展功能,进一步提高查准率,其信息每4～6周更新一次,对于精细检索和查找内容较专的特定词以及比较偏僻的信息会得到比较满意的结果. |

| AltaVista is one of the oldest search engine, officially launched in 1995 by the famous Digital computer company, in 1998 by Compag acquisitions, in January 2002, and independent from the Compag, become its own operation., a subsidiary of it to search for powerful, fast response speed and is famous for its huge amount of information, database including 250 million web pages. AltaVista supports simple and advanced query, in advanced query, AltaVista supports full-featured Boolean logic retrieval, proximity searches, text can be translated into many languages, and also provides a date limit, limit, or field finite extension functions such as language, to further improve the precision, the information is updated every 4 ~ 6 weeks, fine retrieval and search content is designed for the specific words and relatively remote information can get satisfactory results. |
