| An attempt was made to compare sensitivity and specificity between the methods of Coombs test and the Indirect Haemogglutination test on leptospirosis diagnosis. 110 serum samples were tested with two tests. Among them 95 were obtained from the patients with leptospirosis, 10 were from healthy adults and 5 from patients with the other diseases. The results showed that Coombs7 test was significantly more responsive than the Indirect Haemogglutination test(P<0.01). Results showed that all the non-leptospirosis patients were negative, suggesting that Coombs test is specific in the diagnosis of leptospirosis. Some factors effecting Coombs test were also discussed. |
